Lake Windermere

A stroll by the lake.

Just around the corner from the cottage

Morning World!

After breakfast Thomas has a play on the bed with some toys. Here in the cottage we are keeping the routines similar so here he is modelling how cute babies should look on a white bed!

The first roll over.

Thomas has just rolled over for the first time on his own. This photo was taken moments after the momentous event and as you can see Thomas is very pleased with himself.

The first night away

Thomas has slept well for his first night away. He slept through and woke up happy and smiling. Here he is posing in a comfy chair in the kitchen.

Chilling in the kitchen

Thomas feels right at home in the cottage, relaxing in his inflatable ring with his toys.

The Hayloft

The cottage we have for the week is massive. Loads of room for all of Thomas' stuff! The place is finished to a very high standard. I am sure we shall enjoy our stay here.

Trip to the Lakes

First trip away as a family, first time to the Lakes, first time away in the Subaru. Rain most of the way here not much fun. Average mpg of 28 on the way here, nice!

The jumperoo

The jumperoo has really come into its own there last few days. Thomas absolutely loves it and has developed a good coordinated jumping style.

Turning Japanese

I really think so.....

The new car has been picked up.

It's a Subaru Legacy Sports Tourer 3.o R Spec B, and it is great. Loads of power, smooth 4WD system, loads of room and gadgets galore!

I was very sorry to see the Jag go especially after a lovely journey over to Wigan touching 115 at times (and still some to give!) but alas all good things come to an end.

These pics were taken at the Wigan garage just before I got in the Subaru and drove after.
I have loved owning and driving the X type and changing the appearance from a boring saloon into a sports saloon. Hopefully the next owner will look after it too.

Missing You Already!

I miss Thomas when I am at work. It is always lovely to come home from work and be greeted by a smiling, leg kicking little boy and Tracy as well. Yesterday Tracy went to work for the afternoon so when she came back she realised how much she missed Thomas. He was so happy when he came home with her. His little legs were kicking faster than an Irish dancers!

Recently...

Thomas has been sleeping longer in the mornings. Thomas has been eating well and trying new tastes including fish, chicken and enjoying chewing on banana after his breakfast. Thomas has been really bouncing in his jumperoo. Thomas has been developing his ability to grip with his finger and thumb (the pincher grip), although in his infancy Thomas persists with this to get hold of small things like labels. Thomas has been enjoying rolling around on people's laps stretching his back and legs muscles.

Trying out the bumbo

Thomas is getting better at sitting up on his own and in the bumbo.

Car on fire pt3

Cancel the AA I think the car's a right off! This is what remains of the front end of the 04 Astra. Luckily she was insured and nobody was hurt. We had to rearrange the meeting though.

Car on fire pt2

The fire brigade arrived and dealt with the now flaming car (after they stopped off at the pub!). The poor owner had the chance to empty the smoke filled car of her possessions and the crowds dispersed.

Car on fire pt1

I had a meeting today with the unfortunate owner of this car. She arrived and phoned the AA because her car was smoking slightly. 5 minutes into our meeting she was informed that her car was on fire. Cars were hurriedly moved from the full car park and the fire brigade called.

Some more firsts

We have had some more firsts during the last week.
On Sunday Thomas laughed at the television, the Fimbles, whilst he was sitting watching it in his inflatable ring. It was lovely to watch him giggling away to the puppets on the screen. He has also cut his first tooth during the weekend on his bottom jaw. He has coped really well with it and hardly complained at all at night (when he is still sleeping through). During the days he has needed the gel a bit more but still he has coped really well.
The little poser also went for his Christmas present from Grandad Rees on Saturday - the photo session at Clive Pickering's studio. Clive is a real character and had all of us laughing especially Thomas who smiled away merrily for a good 45 minutes so hopefully we will have some great family photos soon.
